Lazaroo – Sunday, September 5, 2010

Sep 05, 2010 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with burning emotion:

“…you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for his Son from heaven…”
(1 Thessalonians 1:9-10)

It’s hard to wait for Your return, Jesus.

There’s so much on this earth that’s so wrong –

murder
injustice
drunkenness
disbelief
racism
ageism
sexism
favoritism
lying
cheating
rape
slavery
loneliness
gossip
slander
laziness
workaholism
addictions
scoffing
mistrust
judgmentalism
hatred
discord
jealousy
idolatry
poverty
wars
famine
genocide
disasters
division
sickness
death

How long, O LORD?

We’re doing our best to correct what’s wrong with ourselves and our society

but we’re destined to fail.
You alone have the power to stop it.

How can You bear to see what’s happening and not step in?

It’s Your love, isn’t it?

As hard as it is on You

You’re waiting just a little longer

to give even the worst of us a chance

to put our trust in You.

…And can it be said that we delay His coming and extend His and our anguish by our lackadaisical efforts to reach the lost?
