Lazaroo – Thursday, April 1, 2010
Apr 01, 2010 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in humble self-assessment:
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”
(Genesis 1:27)
Do I look like You, Jesus?
If I were charged with being a Christian
would there be enough evidence to convict me?
Could a total stranger watch me
and conclude that I belong to You?
What about the people who’ve partnered with me on some joint task?
Is there anything about my work ethic that reminds them of You?
Of course, there are the people I’ve lived with – or near – over the years
they’ve seen me at my best…and worst.
In spite of my countless flaws and shortcomings…
does the authenticity of my relationship with You still shine through?
Most of all…
may the day come when – for the briefest moment – You look at me
and think You are looking
into a mirror.
