Lazaroo – Thursday, April 11, 2013
Apr 11, 2013 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with renewed determination:
“Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest is my lover among the young men. I delight to sit in his shade, and his fruit is sweet to my taste.”
(Songs of Songs 2:3)
That’s what I want to be to the people around me, Jesus –
an apple tree –
or maybe a pear, orange, pineapple, cherry tree –
whatever they need from You
through me.
When my life touches my friends
neighbors
coworkers
family members
total strangers
I want to be sweet to their taste!
I don’t want to make them roll their eyes
have to tolerate my obnoxious issues.
I long to be
a blessing
an encouragement
to everyone with whom You bring me into contact!
When the sun is hot
when they’re tired, exhausted, weary of the battle
I want to be that person they can turn to
sit under my shade
find cool…sweet…relief.
