Lazaroo – Thursday, January 21, 2010

Jan 21, 2010 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in deepest gratitude:

“I will stretch out my hand against Judah and against all who live in Jerusalem. I will cut off from this place every remnant of Baal, the names of the pagan and the idolatrous priests – ”
(Zephaniah 1:4)

What a stunning reminder, Jesus!

You will punish the people You love when we turn our backs on You, the only true God

the one who gave us life
the one who has been incomprehensibly good to us
the one who loved us so much that You died on the cross to save us.

Oh, how much it must hurt You

when we fall on our faces in worship before the false gods of our age!

But You punish us to get our attention, to

discipline us
warn us of danger
turn us around before it’s too late

and not – thank God!

to destroy us.
