Lazaroo – Thursday, January 7, 2010
Jan 07, 2010 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with over-the-top trust:
“… in weakness they have fled before the pursuer.”
(Lamentations 1:6)
The New Year is barely one week old, Jesus
and already I have run headlong into my weakness.
I had set my course
I knew what I had to do
I had resolved to be strong
and in some areas I was.
But in this one area…
I wasn’t.
It’s hard not to be utterly disgusted with myself.
It’s hard not to give in to anger, frustration and despair.
It’s hard not to give up.
But I can’t!
I don’t dare!
There’s too much at stake!
So what do I do with me…
and this despicable weakness?
This.
I confess it.
I face the fact that apart from You
I am powerless.
Enter my weakness, O God!
Fill me with Your strength!
Do in me and through me and in spite of me
what only You can do.
