Lazaroo – Thursday, June 24, 2010
Jun 24, 2010 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with profound respect for the principles of God:
“When David was told that it was the men of Jabesh Gilead who had buried Saul, he sent messengers to the men of Jabesh Gilead to say to them, ‘The LORD bless you for showing this kindness to Saul your master by burying him. May the LORD now show you kindness and faithfulness, and I too will show you the same favor because you have done this.’”
(2 Samuel 2:4-6)
You called David a man after Your own heart, LORD.
Unlike Saul, who preceded him as king, David did everything You wanted him to do –
including honoring Saul as king over Israel
including honoring the men who gave Saul decent burial
though Saul tried again and again to kill David.
Jesus, help me follow Your heart like David
and treat even my enemies
with the respect due the offices You’ve given them
and the respect due You, their Creator.
