Lazaroo – Thursday, June 6, 2013
Jun 06, 2013 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in fully aware humility:
“Esther also was taken to the king’s palace and entrusted to Hegai, who had charge of the harem. The girl pleased him and won his favor.”
(Esther 2:8-9)
I don’t want this, Jesus –
for my future…
to depend on what someone else thinks of me.
My first thought is to rebel.
How can anyone else evaluate me?
They won’t understand.
They’ll try to compare me to somebody else.
But You’ve created me one-of-a-kind!
Or…after I finish pitching my fit…
I might be tempted to lower myself
jump through their hoops
wear a fake smile
learn to dance for them
kiss up.
Ugh.
I just can’t –
not with integrity.
I’d never be able to live with myself –
having to avert my eyes
every time I looked in the mirror.
You know what?
I’m going to work hard and stay true to You –
trusting You to take care of my PR.
