Lazaroo – Thursday, March 31, 2011
Mar 31, 2011 I Lazaroo.
Ask the LORD for a new level of understanding, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:
“At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship…”
(Job 1:20)
No wonder You bragged so much about this man, Jesus!
He had just heard news no father could bear to hear:
all his children…killed in a terrible disaster.
He did exactly what anyone of that era would do to express unspeakable grief:
He tore the clothing he was wearing
shaved himself bald, in a dramatic, outward expression of his loss.
But the next thing he did wasn’t like anyone would do –
not in that age or my own –
He fell to the ground…
in worship.
“Worship?”
Praising You?
Trusting You?
At at a time like this?
I don’t know that I would do that.
I don’t know that I could do that!
But this I do know:
You absolutely deserve that level of trust
from me.
