Lazaroo – Thursday, September 2, 2010
Sep 02, 2010 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, as you take stock:
“The company of the prophets at Bethel came out to Elisha and asked, ‘Do you know that the LORD is going to take your master from you today?’ ‘Yes, I know,’ Elisha replied, ‘but do not speak of it.’”
(2 Kings 2:3)
Could I handle this, Jesus –
knowing in advance which day You are going to call me home to be with You?
If it’s near…
would I freak out and dissolve into a nonfunctional cesspool of self-pity?
or would I suck it up, get clear-eyed and make every moment count?
If it’s farther away…
would I heave a big sigh of relief and become careless?
or would I become energized at the prospect of laying up even more heavenly treasure?
Either way, that day is already set.
It will be here before I know it.
Help me live this day
aware that it just might be
my last.
