Lazaroo – Tuesday, April 16, 2013
Apr 16, 2013 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with deep longing:
“I have much to write to you, but I do not want to use paper and ink.”
(2 John 1:12)
Paper and ink fall short, Jesus.
So do emails
texts
instant messages
voicemails
sign language
whispers
facial expressions
telegraphs
morse code
signal flags
walkie-talkies
smoke signals
carrier pigeons.
None of those is adequate for expressing true love.
But that also goes for
phone calls
serving one another
face-to-face meetings
hugs
kisses
lovemaking.
Everything falls short.
There are no words
no means of communication
no actions
that can adequately convey
deep
pure
unadulterated
love.
But that’s no excuse, is it?
I’ve got to try.
I’ve got to express the love You’ve put in me for
family
friends
even total strangers
every way I can.
I know I won’t do it perfectly
but when I fall short
all I ask
is that You fill in the gaps
and let them know.
