Lazaroo – Tuesday, April 6, 2010
Apr 06, 2010 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with white-hot fervor:
“He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because of his birth, for he will be great in the sight of the Lord.”
(Luke 1:14-15)
That’s where I long to be great, Jesus –
in Your sight.
It’s true that being great in Your eyes sometimes brings joy to others.
For a time.
But as with John the Baptist, there will almost certainly come a day when I will have to choose
whether to be great in Your sight
or to please everybody else.
Confronted with that choice, John made his decision.
He chose greatness in Your sight
and it cost him his life.
The thing is, John’s primary concern wasn’t life on this earth
but life with You for all eternity.
When confronted with the same choice
may I choose as wisely as John.
