Lazaroo – Tuesday, August 9, 2011
Aug 09, 2011 I Lazaroo.
Invite the LORD to continue changing you, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:
“…he must be hospitable…”
(Titus 1:7-8)
You don’t have to remind me to breathe, laugh, eat or cry, Jesus.
I do those things without being told.
But other things don’t come as easily to me
things I have to work at
things You actually have to command me to do, like:
“be hospitable.”
In the Bible…
You tell me to “practice” hospitality.
Obviously, if I’m going to be hospitable
in the way You’re calling me to be
I’m going to need a lot of practice.
You list “showing” hospitality as something You highly value –
which tells me it’s not enough to have it in my heart.
I’ve got to openly demonstrate it.
LORD, You know it’s easier to welcome people who are
friendly
outgoing
socially adept.
Please help me reach out with genuine warmth
to the shy, strange, obnoxious people
You bring into my life.
