Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with bottomless trust:

“…the Almighty has brought misfortune upon me.”

Ruth cut straight to the chase, didn’t she, Jesus?

Her husband and both her sons died.

But she didn’t blame their doctor.
She didn’t blame whatever disease or accident killed them.

She blamed You.

Was that unfair?

Actually, no.
Not at all.

She knew You could have prevented their deaths.
Since You didn’t, she placed the blame on Your doorstep

as the one who gives life
and takes it away

while still…

maintaining her steadfast trust in You.
