Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in faith-building understanding:

“Sons were born to David in Hebron: His firstborn was Amnon…”
(2 Samuel 3:2)

Oh, Jesus.

What a happy day this was for David!
His firstborn – a son!

There was no way he could have known another day was coming –

when this same son would rape his sister
then be murdered by his younger brother.

Sometimes I beg You to show me the future…

but You seldom do.

This helps me understand why.
You alone can see how often knowing the future

would destroy my joy in the present.
