Lazaroo – Tuesday, February 15, 2011
Feb 15, 2011 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in deepest respect:
“For three sins of Moab, even for four, I will not turn back my wrath. Because he burned, as if to lime, the bones of Edom’s king…”
(Amos 2:1)
Moab crossed a line, didn’t He Jesus?
You formed the first human being from the dust of the ground –
from inanimate material like
carbon
hydrogen
nitrogen
calcium
phosphorous
potassium
sulfur
chlorine
sodium
magnesium
iron
cobalt
copper
zinc
iodine
selenium
fluorine
the non-living residue of rocks.
You scooped it all together
and breathed into it the breath of life
creating in Your image a living, breathing human being!
But in his fury
Moab attempted to reduce a fellow human being
to the rock dust from which he had been made.
O God!
No matter how angry at another human being I become
may I always treat them with the awesome respect
due another human being
made in Your image.
