Lazaroo – Tuesday, February 22, 2011
Feb 22, 2011 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with deepening awareness:
“Then Haggai, the LORD’S messenger…
(Haggai 1:13)
O Jesus.
How did it make this man feel to be designated:
“the LORD’S messenger”?
After all, he was just a man –
subject to the same weaknesses any other person faces.
Was he filled with wonder when You gave him a message for Your people?
Did he humbly think to himself –
“Why me?!
I’m no better than my brothers – probably worse!”
Or when You sent him to some high-ranking official
did he sometimes wrestle with pride, as Satan slyly whispered –
“Look at you! That big shot was actually afraid of you!”
Were there other days when he was the one gripped with fear –
knowing the message You had given him would be so hated
that the people might decide to kill the messenger?
But I don’t have to wonder what it was like, do I?
Because I…
am Your messenger.
