Lazaroo – Tuesday, July 19, 2011
Jul 19, 2011 I Lazaroo.
Ask God for the gift of a great attitude, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:
“…those living in Beth Shemesh and Beth Anath became forced laborers for them.”
(Judges 1:33)
It’s a lot tougher to do work this way, Jesus –
when somebody forces me to.
I’d rather tackle the projects
I enjoy –
the activities that fit my gifts, personality and schedule
the ones that are a perfect fit for my values
that help me accomplish the goals that makes sense to me
when I’m in the mood.
But not everything that has to be done fits this beautiful ideal.
Some of the things I’m responsible for bore me to tears.
Others take me way outside my comfort zone.
Still others are downright odious.
I hate that they’re on my plate –
just sitting there, waiting…
growing restless.
LORD, I beg You to send somebody who loves doing what I hate!
But until You do, help me faithfully discharge my duties
without having to be forced.
