Lazaroo – Tuesday, July 5, 2011
Jul 05, 2011 I Lazaroo.
Take a tip from an angel, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:
“Then the angel of the LORD said, ‘LORD Almighty, how long will you withhold mercy from Jerusalem and from the towns of Judah, which you have been angry with these seventy years?’”
(Zechariah 1:12)
I can learn a lot from this angel’s question, Jesus.
Even though I’m Your child
even though I’ve prayed a prayer of salvation
even though I’ve told everyone I belong to You:
If I repeatedly sin against You
I can cause You to become angry with me.
When You become angry
there can be very unpleasant consequences.
Even though You seldom treat me as my sins deserve
those consequences may be severe enough
to prompt an angel to speak up in my behalf!
and they can last a very
very
long time.
As I consider this sobering reality
it occurs to me that the wisest course of action
is to stop my sinning.
Now.
