Lazaroo – Tuesday, June 18, 2013
Jun 18, 2013 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in Godly humility:
“Zion will be redeemed with justice, her penitent ones with righteousness.”
(Isaiah 1:27)
This is my only hope, Jesus…to be a “penitent one”
a person who’s truly sorry for my sins
sorry enough to try all over again
to do what’s right.
You deserve a perfect record, but I missed that flight
(heard it was empty)
so I’m taking the penitent bus
(hard to find a seat…very crowded)
Every once in a while on this journey, I look out to see we’re traveling a wide, spacious highway.
But most of the time, it’s back roads –
falling short…
confessing again…
forsaking my sins again…
repeat.
I don’t want it to be this way
it just is.
I’m too flawed, too messed up, too scrambled.
I’d give up entirely
if it weren’t for You
– if it weren’t that You seem to hold a special place in Your heart
for penitent ones.
