Lazaroo – Tuesday, May 24, 2011
May 24, 2011 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with eyes of faith and a heart of trust:
“‘You have asked a difficult thing,’ Elijah said…”
(2 Kings 2:10)
That’s what I do, isn’t it, Jesus?
Ask difficult things.
And You love it!
What seems difficult to me
is easy for You.
But that’s not why You love my difficult requests.
You love them…because You love me!
When I ask You for something huge
something mindboggling
something so wonderful that the mere thought of it
makes me tingle
You love to say, “Yes!”
You love to do it for me!
Of course…some of my requests are just stupid
or self-centered
or ignorant.
Actually, all of them are ignorant.
I can’t possibly know enough about the billion consequences of each to understand if my “difficult request”
is a wise request.
So let me ask one more difficult thing – difficult for me:
Every time I ask You for something stupid
will You please lovingly – but clearly –
tell me, “No”?
