Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, shaking your head in amazement:

“I am the God of your father…”
(Exodus 3:6)

Yes You are, Jesus.

You were – and are! – the God of my father every day of his life –

from the moment of his conception…
and uncountable eons before.

You were his God

even when he didn’t know You.

It stuns me to realize that part of what You were doing as his God

was preparing the way for me.

You hovered over him…

opened some doors
shut others.

You made sure he met my mother at the ideal time

made certain I was conceived in the moment
perfect for me.

But You not only guided him…

You also allowed him to make his parenting “mistakes”

knowing what they’d do to me
how they would shape me

give me the grit I need
the experiences I had to have

to make it in this

wonderful
challenging

sometimes brutal world.
