Lazaroo – Tuesday, November 22, 2011
Nov 22, 2011 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, filled with wonder:
“Meanwhile, the people were waiting for Zechariah and wondering why he stayed so long in the temple.”
(Luke 1:21)
Typically, people don’t behave that way, do they, Jesus?
When they have a ministry to perform
they do it and leave.
They have lives –
jobs to do at home, too.
No sense hanging around –
unless they run into a friend who wants to chat.
No doubt that was typical for Zechariah the priest, too.
He loved You.
He served You with his whole heart.
But when the work was done
it was time to get home to his wife Elizabeth.
Except not today.
Today he stayed way past the time necessary to perform his duties.
Because today…
he had an encounter with You.
Well, not You, personally –
with Your angel, Gabriel.
If it was me
I’d take that.
Just sayin’ –
in case You want to keep me late sometime.
