Lazaroo – Tuesday, November 8, 2011
Nov 08, 2011 I Lazaroo.
Allow your desire for faithfulness to build, as You pray this Lazaroo aloud to God:
“Then they cried to the LORD…”
(Jonah 1:14)
“Then…”
when they were in a jam
“Then…”
when they had nowhere else to turn
“Then…”
when they had exhausted all other avenues.
That’s when they cried out to the only one who could rescue them:
You.
But I’m not the one to find fault with them, Jesus.
I can identify.
“Then…”
is when I’ve cried out to You, times beyond counting.
There’s nothing wrong with that…
unless that’s the only time I cry out to You.
O God.
It’s all too easy for that to happen!
to stray, get careless
start taking You for granted
to treat Your blessings as mere circumstance
start thinking it’s solely my intelligence and hard work
to forget who’s doing all this for me
start spending less and less time with You
until I’m reminded the hard way
when disaster strikes.
