Lazaroo – Wednesday, April 20, 2011
Apr 20, 2011 I Lazaroo.
Step down off your high horse, as you pray the words of this Lazaroo out loud:
“Then she will say, ‘I will go back to my husband as at first, for then I was better off than now.’”
(Hosea 2:7)
This is a tough one, Jesus –
to make a decision I believe to be in my best interest
to be convinced in my own mind it’s right
to step out in courage, risk everything and act on it
letting the chips fall where they may
to know everybody around me is watching
some agreeing with me, supporting me
some strongly opposed, calling me foolish
then waking up one day to face the stark reality:
my detractors were right.
It takes courage to buck the crowd and act on my convictions.
But it takes far more courage
to admit my convictions were wrong
to let go of my pride and bow my head in humility.
So…
where do I need to do that today?
