Lazaroo – Wednesday, August 26, 2009
Aug 26, 2009 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with laser-focused intensity:
“The word of the LORD came to me.”
(Jeremiah 1:4)
Your Word has come to me, too, Jesus.
Clearly.
Powerfully.
Often.
But I’m not as grateful as I should be.
Some days my Bible lies unopened, gathering dust –
while 500 million of my brothers and sisters worldwide do not even own a Bible.
I take for granted how easy it is for me to attend a church service –
sometimes criticizing the music or sermon! –
while more than 6,600 of the world’s people groups don’t even know what a church service is.
I’m ashamed to admit I’ve stifled a yawn while someone rehashed the familiar words of the gospel –
forgetting that almost three billion people on this planet have yet to hear the good news of Your death, burial and resurrection for the first time.
O God!
Help me do my part
to make sure Your Word comes to others.
