Lazaroo – Wednesday, August 4, 2010
Aug 04, 2010 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with the passionate heart of your God:
“Because of this I will weep and wail; I will go about barefoot and naked. I will howl like a jackal and moan like an owl.”
(Micah 1:8)
I need more of this man’s spirit in me, Jesus.
When he heard You say You were going to punish Your people for their sins
he didn’t shrug it off with a mere, “Oh, that’s too bad.”
He totally lost it.
He went into deep, humiliating, extended, all-out mourning.
We praise people who are extravagant worshipers
and criticize people who are extravagant mourners.
We tell those who weep and wail and howl and moan
to get over it.
We shake our heads in pity and accuse them of lack of faith.
But I’m the one who lacks.
O God, change me!
into a person who cares as much about Your people
as You do.
