Following the ways of this world

is supposed to be a thing in my past, isn’t it, Jesus?

Not something I continue to do

now that I’m following You.

Admittedly, it can get confusing.

Sometimes the world jumps onto Your path for a short distance.
After all, it’s the only one that’s safe!

When that happens, it can look like I’m following the ways of this world.

But the truth is revealed when the world jumps off Your path
and I stay.
