Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with explosive feeling:

“So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord, or ashamed of me his prisoner.”
(2 Timothy 1:8)

My culture is messed up on this one, Jesus.

We’re ashamed of the wrong things
and unashamed of the things that should cause our faces to flame red.

We laugh off some sins
and actually brag about others.

But it’s not just my culture.

It slays me to admit it

but there have been times I’ve been ashamed of being a Christian
too embarrassed to share Your plan of salvation

even though I sensed You prompting me to speak.

Cure me of that despicable cowardice, LORD!

May I never be ashamed to obey Your Word – no matter what the situation.

And if You ever call on me to lay down my life for You

on that day

may I not give You cause to be ashamed of me.
