Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in stunned recognition:

“I want you to know, brothers, that the gospel I preached is not something that man made up. I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.”
(Galatians 1:11-12)

Wow.

Oh, wow.

This is what is

stunningly
shockingly
radically different

about following You, Jesus.

Every world religion is woman or man-made.

Everything else out there –

whether sincerely supposed or cynically contrived –

is some human being’s best wild guess about You.

But this good news revealed in the Bible isn’t just one more religion

one more well-meaning but futile attempt to reach up to You.

This is You Yourself

reaching down to us.

That’s why when I read Your Word I’m constantly surprised.

No human being could have made this up!

It’s too unexpected
too wonderful
too real
too…

You.
