Lazaroo – Wednesday, March 30, 2011
Mar 30, 2011 I Lazaroo.
Ask God to reveal to you His character, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:
“…not violent…”
(Titus 1:7)
What is there about violence, Jesus…
that Your soul hates?
It brought about the first murder, when Cain killed Abel.
It forced You to create the first – and worst – flood.
Through the years it has caused Your people to cry out to You
for rescue
protection
deliverance.
But it didn’t stop there.
After You left heaven and came to earth as one of us
You experienced violence firsthand
when violent men screamed for Your blood
whipped You
beat You with their fists
spit in Your face
slapped You
stripped You of Your clothing
nailed You to a cross
taunted You
mocked You
hurled insults at You
laughed at You
ridiculed You
How dare I stand still
remain silent
while the people of my generation
allow violence to become our entertainment?
O God.
Right here.
Right now.
I renounce forever
the violence You so passionately hate.
