Lazaroo – Wednesday, March 6, 2013
Mar 06, 2013 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with profound gratitude:
“Appoint Aaron and his sons to serve as priests; anyone else who approaches the sanctuary must be put to death.”
(Numbers 3:10)
That would tend to discourage unauthorized visitation to Your sanctuary, Jesus!
I understand.
At least…I think I do.
You were teaching Your people to regard You as holy –
to realize that we couldn’t treat You just any old way.
You were helping us understand that because of Your greatness
deliberate sin is serious.
Deadly serious.
If a milder punishment would have sufficed, You would have employed it.
But that’s what it took to get it through our thick skulls
to penetrate our self-will and pride –
our preposterous conviction
that we know better than You.
Having firmly established Your point…
You personally came to this earth
paid for our sins with Your life
tore the dividing curtain of the temple in two
and invited us to come near.
