Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with mounting faith in your God:

“…its protection is taken from you.”

Losing protection is a scary thing, Jesus.

I could try to protect myself like other people do…

by accumulating money in a savings account
eating healthy foods
investing in the stock market
taking vitamins
carrying firearms
seeking wise counselors
owning property likely to appreciate in value
exercising six days a week
faithfully taking doctor-prescribed medications
living in a well-lit, safe neighborhood
making friends with powerful people
reading self-help articles, books and blogs
driving high safety-rated automobiles
always obeying the law
avoiding angry, impulsive, reactionary people.

But no matter how many ways I invent to protect myself

I can’t protect myself.

Every one of the things I come up with to keep bad things from happening to me

can be taken away.

Even with all of them

I’m in constant danger.

Only with You as my Protector, Jesus…

am I truly safe.
