Lazaroo – Wednesday, October 14, 2009
Oct 14, 2009 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with explosive feeling:
“We know that the law is good if one uses it properly.”
(1 Timothy 1:8)
That’s a huge “if,” Jesus.
Your law is good.
Period.
But You’re saying the moment I pick up Your law and try to use it –
to live by it
to apply it to my life –
I have the responsibility to use it “properly.”
Which leads me to conclude that even if I
quote Your law
act on Your law
try to live my life by Your law
I might be doing so “improperly” –
quoting it out of context
acting on it insincerely
living by a twisted version of Your law that is absolutely foreign to You.
O God!
Deliver me from that delusion!
And deliver me from the suffocating bondage of those
who attempt to use Your law to manipulate me for their own selfish purposes.
