Lazaroo – Wednesday, October 26, 2011
Oct 26, 2011 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in faith-filled gratitude:
“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.”
(1 John 1:7)
I’m trying to grasp this, Jesus…
When You died on the cross to pay for the sins of the whole world
and for mine
You bled.
They whipped You and beat You until You were unrecognizable
and Your blood flowed.
They shoved a cruel crown of thorns on Your head
their long spikes penetrating Your scalp
and Your blood flowed.
They nailed Your hands and feet to the rough wood of the cross
and Your blood flowed.
It was an impossible dilemma:
God can’t bleed.
Man can’t save.
But because of who You are –
the God who became man –
Your one-of-a-kind blood mixes with my faith
eradicating all my sins.
Even that one.
