Lazaroo – Wednesday, October 5, 2011
Oct 05, 2011 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in desperate trust:
“They were helped in fighting them…”
(1 Chronicles 5:20)
I can’t tell You how much this means to me, Jesus –
I don’t have to fight my battles alone.
You’re right there with me.
You go before me
You’re at my side
You’ve got my back
You’re in me.
When somebody takes me on
they have to deal with You.
By myself I don’t scare them
but if they know what’s good for them
they’ll think twice before they mess with my Big Brother.
Still…
it’s not the battles on the outside that scare me the most.
It’s the battles in here.
My ugliest, most terrifying struggles are against
my own will
the cravings of my body
the temptations Satan sticks under my nose
my self-serving personal agenda
all my dreams, wishes, hopes, preferences, desires.
Those are the battles I can’t win alone:
me…
against me.
