Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in settled faith: 

“…the kingdom has gone to my brother…”

Few things are harder, Jesus

than to see what I longed for
be enjoyed by someone else.

I know I’m supposed to be happy for them.

Sometimes I try to be.
Sometimes I don’t.

At best, it’s a struggle to avoid plunging into the acid of bitter envy

until I finally get it through my thick skull
that it was never meant to be mine

because You’re holding in store for me
something infinitely better.
