Take heed, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:

“Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts…”
(Romans 1:24)

Can there be many words more chilling, Jesus?

The very thought that You’d take Your hands off me
allow me to plunge into the cesspool of sin that looks so good

from a distance.

That “therefore” is there for a reason, isn’t it?

It’s because I know better.

It’s because I know You –
oh, not as well as I should –

but well enough.

How close am I to that line, LORD?

I’ll never know till I cross it, will I?

I think I’ll step back.
