Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, tingling with anticipation:

“The LORD your God, who is going before you…”
(Deuteronomy 1:30)

Too often I forget that, Jesus.

No matter where I go
You arrive before me.

Sometimes You set it up for me to succeed.
Sometimes You’ve arranged to teach me a much-needed lesson.

But never for my harm
always for my good

never in answer to short-term, short-sighted prayers
always with the long view in mind.

So maybe instead of just walking into

the next room
the next group of people
the next set of circumstances

I should first look for You

knowing You’re already there.
