Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in tender compassion:

“You should not …hand over their survivors…”
(Obadiah 1:14)

You’re referring to people who’ve really suffered, aren’t You, Jesus!

Those who’ve survived…but just barely.

Then along comes a more devious kind of enemy

one who attacks while they’re

weak
wounded
vulnerable.

They thought they had escaped with their lives

only to be captured for ransom

turned back over
to the very murderers they had just escaped.

Rescue me from those who don’t have an ounce of pity in their hearts!

And when I find an exhausted survivor lying along the road

may I be a blessing
rather than a curse.
