Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with renewed determination:

“I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage…”
(Philippians 1:20)

That’s how I feel, Jesus –

that no matter what challenges I face in the future
I will stand the test.

Right now, based on my love for You
my passionate desire to please You in everything I do

I believe I will.

But there’s no way I can know that in advance, is there?

Peter – one of the greats of all time –
thought he had what it took…

but he didn’t.
He failed the test.

So who am I to believe I have what it takes?

It all comes down to the level of my courage, doesn’t it?

If I can’t speak up for You at a ballgame
when someone repeatedly profanes Your Name

What makes me think I would stand for You
with a gun to my head?
