Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, from the depths of your soul: 

“I said, ‘I have been banished from your sight…’”
(Jonah 2:4)

Sometimes it feels like that, Jesus…

even though I know it isn’t true.

I can’t always sense Your Presence when I’m obedient

although because of Your promise I take it on faith.

But when I’ve done wrong and I know it –

that’s when I’m most likely to fear You’ve kicked me out.

I know what I deserve.

But that’s not how You operate, is it?

You might punish me
but You never forsake me.

If I claim You as mine
You’ll always claim me as Yours.
