Brace yourself for some serious obedience, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:

“…the Son…in whom we have redemption…”
(Colossians 1:13-14)

That’s pretty straightforward, Jesus.

I sold myself to Satan
You bought me back.

Like a square of newsprint on triple-coupon day
I’ve been redeemed.

I’m not my own
You bought me at an outrageous price:

Your own perfect life on the cross
for my rotten, dirty, rebellious soul.

You didn’t say I will be redeemed some day

I have it now.
It’s done.

I’m bought and paid for –
which means I radically belong to You.

So when You tell me to do something, the only reply at my disposal is:

“Yes.”
