Listen carefully, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:

“I will look to see what he will say to me, and what answer I am to give to this complaint.”
(Habakkuk 2:1)

I sometimes miss that second step, Jesus.

I’m pretty good at registering complaints
not so good at sticking around to see how You answer.

Sometimes I just move on to the next complaint
as if the only purpose of complaining is to get it off my chest

blowing my opportunity to learn something.

In fact, since nothing happens without Your say-so…

ultimately, every complaint I make
is registered against You.

Maybe I should start listening more carefully

to Your reply.
