Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with sharpened awareness:

“Shave your heads in mourning for the children in whom you delight…”
(Micah 1:16)

That’s a terrifying message, Jesus.

You were telling Your people
that something horrible was about to happen to their kids

the next generation for whom they had worked so hard
their offspring whom they deeply loved.

Why would You allow that to happen, LORD?

It was because mom and dad
had repeatedly disrespected You, wasn’t it? –

bringing on themselves a tsunami of consequences
that would inevitably sweep away their children.

It’s one of Satan’s biggest lies, isn’t it?

whispering in my ear
that when I defiantly sin against You

I’m hurting nobody but myself.
