Lazaroo – Wednesday, July 17, 2013

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with pedal-to-the-metal commitment:

“The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, ‘Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!’”
(John 1:29)

John modeled it for me, didn’t he, Jesus?
I’m supposed to do what he did:

point people to You.

But it cost him something to do that

just as it will cost me.

For John, the cost came pretty fast:

He lost some of his closest friends
he got arrested
he was killed.

So why did he do it?

Because the eternal payoff he received in heaven

trumped the cost
made it seem like a pittance.

I’m determined to use every opportunity You provide
every gift You’ve given me

to point people to You
no matter what the cost.

Still…how did John know the price he paid would be worth it?

The same way I do:

by faith.
