No comments, Apr 17, 2009“To the chosen lady and her children, whom I love in the truth.”
(2 John 1:1)
Okay…
I love some people because they’re family. I love others because I admire them, trust them, or look up to them.
I love the lovable.
Like any sinner on the street, I love those who love me.
But is there anybody I love in the truth – solely because You tell me, to, Jesus?
You tell me to love every person on the planet, warts and all.
Including my enemies.
Obviously, when You tell me to love someone, You’re talking about something far greater than my emotions.
You’re talking about a love so strong that it forces me to act in spite of how I feel.
Only then will I not be a liar when I pray to You and say:
“I love You.”
