Lazaroo – Sunday, April 25, 2010
No comments, Apr 25, 2010
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with burning emotion:
“They attacked the Hamites in their dwellings and also the Meunites who were there and completely destroyed them, as is evident to this day. Then they settled in their place, because there was pasture for their flocks.”
(1 Chronicles 4:41)
You couldn’t get more politically incorrect with this one, Jesus.
Not for my culture.
Something tells me it didn’t go over all that well in their culture, either
especially for the Hamites and Meunites who lost their land and their lives.
I know You’re good, loving and fair.
I know You would never exterminate an entire village of people who didn’t deserve to be destroyed
who hadn’t been given chance after chance after chance to reform their ways.
Knowing You
You showed them unbelievably patient mercy
before their stubborn disobedience forced You to administer justice.
Knowing You
may I never disregard the unbelievably patient mercy
You are showing me.
