Lazaroo – Friday, March 15, 2013

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with deep reverence:

“Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us…“
(2 Corinthians 1:21)

What does that mean, Jesus –

for me, I mean.

I know You sent Your prophets to anoint kings.

Moses anointed Aaron and his sons to serve You as priests

You ordered them to anoint the altar of sacrifice –
to purify it, consecrate it and make it holy

But it was no ordinary oil.

No one else was allowed to use that formula.
Whoever did would be cut off from Your people.

When You came to this earth

You sent Your disciples out to anoint sick people with oil
and You healed them.

Now I discover that simply because of my belief in You

You Yourself…have anointed me!

Why? For the same reason You anointed Your altar:

to purify me
consecrate me
and make me holy.
