Lazaroo – Friday, July 22, 2011

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with growing understanding:

“Now this is our boast: Our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially in our relations with you, in the holiness and sincerity that are from God.”
(2 Corinthians 1:12)

I can make that same boast, Jesus…

with some of the people
some of the time.

Unfortunately, I don’t have a spotless record

with all of the people
all of the time.

But Paul didn’t either, did he?

There was a time when he was

just Saul.

But in mercy, You looked down on him and saw past his sins.

You saw his zealous passion
even though it was sometimes wrongheaded.

You saw his potential
even though You first had to knock him off his high horse.

Please.

Look past my sins.
See my zealous passion
Fix Your eyes on the potential You’ve secreted in me

and use me for Your glory.
