Lazaroo – Sunday, July 26, 2009

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with lavish gratitude:
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ…who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.”
(2 Corinthians 1:3-4)
Thanks for this reminder, Jesus.
You don’t promise to spare me from trouble.
If You did that, I’d be a mile wide and an inch deep.
There’d be nothing to me – I’d be proud, naïve, heartless, shallow, uncaring.
I’d be eaten up with sin.
So that’s why You’ve brought this trouble into my life.
For my benefit.
That’s my comfort, isn’t it?
I’m not going through some dumb suffering that has no point.
You’re making me more like You.
Thank You.
Knowing that this pain brings with it a huge payoff makes it a little more bearable.
Now show me…
….with whom else do You want me to share the comfort of this powerful insight?

Wow, I am so touched by this message and both the comments above. Thank you, God, for your message from Steve and for the sharing from both of these folks who are going through so much right now. I am sending my prayers to You, Dear God, for all concerned. Amen
